Renee Beus, aka Rj Beux was born March 11, 1980 at St Luke’s hospital in Boise, Idaho. She attended Franklin Grade School, then with her family’s move to West Boise, attended Joplin Elementary, Lowell Scott Middle, Meridian Middle School, Meridian High and finished her high school career at Centennial High School with the class of 1998. Promptly after leaving school she moved with friends for the freedom and quirkiness Portland, Oregon offered.

Renee was raised in the LDS Church and found her greatest joys in singing, the Young Women’s program and going to girl’s camp. As she grew into adulthood and recognized her differences with the church, she gravitated toward a group of loving friends that embraced her differences, and supported her with love and enthusiasm through her adulthood. These friends have continued to be as close as family and have made all the difference both in Boise and Portland.
Renee worked several jobs in Boise, starting in her youth at the concession stands at BSU, Chuck E Cheese, Rockin’ Taco, Mulligan’s and Idaho River Sports. Her love for rivers took her to Colorado where she certified as a river guide. When she moved to Portland, she looked for a place that could help sustain her passion for river sports, worked at Ebb and Flow for a time and then landed at a wonderful store--Next Adventure. She always enjoyed supporting social causes and partnered with a friend to raise money for autism with a “Paddling for Autism” event. Renee worked at Next Adventure several years before deciding to try driving for a living. She became a cabbie for several years at Radio Cab and loved telling people about Portland. She was passionate about the clean water, history of Portland and its different districts, Saturday Market, the quirky atmosphere, food, bridges, rivers, camping, close proximity to the ocean and the yearly naked bike ride, but mostly the people. Everywhere she worked she developed more friendships, which also helped in her softball and soccer team recruitment.
Renee was a gifted musician and artist. She had a wonderful singing voice and learned to play the guitar by ear. She loved campfires, and the two went together with her love of the outdoors and turned camping into a passion. She gifted her paintings to her siblings for special events and sometimes Christmas. She eagerly awaited the Oregon State Fair every year. She had recently found love in a relationship with the beautiful Hayden Roma, who shared Renee’s passion for seemingly everything.
She completed a program through Oregon Tradeswomen Inc., and could build a mean garden arbor. When she went to work for Latus Motors in Gladstone just over a year ago, she found her calling. Her success at selling Triumph Motorcycles had earned her title as a “Triumph Champion”. Over the last year she had been given the opportunity to visit Key West in February, and won the opportunity to travel to England earlier this month, tour the London area and visit the original Triumph factory in Hinckley, England. As part of that award she had also travelled to Washington DC.
On October 12, 2017, Renee was involved in a tragic motorcycle accident that removed her from our mortal lives. Our family is incredibly sad and heartbroken, but recognize that Renee lived more life in her 37 years than most do in an average 78-year lifetime. She is simply on to her next great adventure.
Renee is survived by her parents, Vicki (Kelly) Fackrell, and her father, Rodney (Terri) Beus. She has loving and close relationships with all of her six siblings, Ryan Beus (Will Ranstrom), of Boise, Wade Beus, of Boise, Heather (Ryan) Spritzer, of Meridian, Kathryn Beus, (William Mavromichalis) of Boise, Melissa (Tyler) Kawahara, of Meridian and Kelly Christian Fackrell (currently serving an LDS mission in the DeMoines Iowa Mission), Grandfather Richard Beus (Ella Rae) and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
A celebration of life will be held to honor Renee in Boise at the Stonehouse event center, adjacent to the Ram Pub on Broadway on Wednesday, October 18th at 6 pm. Please come prepared to share your favorite memories of Renee.
