Binna A. Nonenmacher

September 6, 1925 – September 22, 2022

Eagle, Idaho - Our dear mother, Binna A. Nonenmacher, sadly passed away at the age of 97 surrounded by her loving family on September 22, 2022. She was a wonderful mother who was always there for her family.

Binna was born in Rawlins, Wyoming to Myrtle M. “Peggy” (Winkelman) Work and Glenn W. Work. At a young age, her family moved to the Boise area, where she graduated from Kuna High School and attended Boise Junior College.

She grew up riding horses on a farm in Kuna, loved animals and even trained a pet magpie to speak. During World War II, she moved to Southern California with her sister, Gail, and worked at Douglas Aircraft as a “Rosie the Riveter." In 1945, she met the love of her life, John Nonenmacher, in Redondo Beach California. They were married in June of the same year and shortly after moved to Boise, where they made their forever home.

Binna loved to golf and bowl. She was the President of the Plantation Ladies Golf Association in the early 70’s and a member for many years. She and dear friends enjoyed bowling in the same bowling league for 50 years. She took up painting later in life and was very talented in oil and watercolor. She participated in an annual holiday craft bazaar with her cousins. She had a talent for gardening and her yard was always filled with beautiful flowers. Binna loved spending summers in McCall with her family.

She is survived by her children; Rose Buehler, Daryl Langworthy (George Mickelsen), James (Colette) Nonenmacher, and Binna (Phil) Jensen, all residing in Idaho; eleven grandchildren; Ryan Buehler, Brandi Kahler, Bridget Cole, Morgan Anderson, Benny Langworthy, Saydie Padilla, Mechelle Churchill, Jaim Nonenmacher, Annalisa Powell, Justin Jensen and Dillon Jensen; 25 great-grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren. Binna is also survived by nephews Mickey and Rocky Penka and numerous other nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents, her beloved husband of nearly 67 years, John Nonenmacher; and her sister, Gail Auman.

A graveside service will be held at 1 pm, Saturday, October 1, 2022,  Terrace Lawn Memorial Gardens, in Meridian. Arrangements are under the direction of Cloverdale Funeral Home.
