Catherine Lynn Tinsley

Catherine was born into the world on January 15, 1950, as Catherine Lynn Cain.  She attended elementary schools in Boise, one year at Fruitland High, and then finished at Meridian High, graduating in May of 1969 with a full scholarship to Lady Catherine Beauty College, where she earned her Cosmetology License and worked as a hair stylist in Boise as well as Pocatello until 1978.

Cathy married in July of 1969 and is survived by husband of 52 years, Clinton (Clint) Tinsley who was known as Clint Thomas at KYME.  She is also survived by her mother, Mary Lou Wright of Boise, her Brothers, Michael Wright and Jon Boyd, 3 children - Connie Lou, Christopher (Chris) and Cynthia Rose, 10 grand children, and 2 great grandchildren.

The family moved to Philadelphia Pa in 1979 where they resided until 1989 as a result of her husband’s occupation.  During those years, she raised their children and took advantage of the many opportunities to travel around the North East with her family.

In 1989, the family returned to Boise and Cathy found work at the Boise School District in Food Service for the next 20 years, retiring at age 62.  She also worked at the Ada County Detention Center and Walmart Deli, in addition to her job at the Boise School District.

She had a strong interest in Art and even created a couple of windowscapes in the Boise school Kitchen area of where she worked, in an otherwise windowless area.  She also competed on regular basis at the Amateur level and won several awards for her original oil paintings at the Idaho State Fair.

After retiring, she continued her interest in paintings and spending time at home with her husband along with "cabin" trips to Crouch, Cascade, and McCall, enjoying the Idaho outdoors and the "cabin" life.  Travel included a trip to Black Hills of North Dakota and included Mount Rushmore.  She also watched over her Mother of 91 years, and the 3 children as they raised their families, all of which lived nearby in the Boise area for the past 30 years. 

Cathy passed away in her sleep at home on November 21, 2021.
