Charles W. Wright, age 92, of Boise, Idaho passed away on June 12th, 2018, at his home with his family around him. Chuck was born on February 15th, 1926 at Millcreek, Utah to Rachel Rider Wright and John W. Wright. Chuck joined the United States Marine Corp. on Oct. 8th, 1943 until his release on February 20th, 1946 with an Honorable Discharge as a Corporal. He served his time during WWII making landings in Guam, Tinian and Saipan. He married Erma Lucille Magers on Nov. 17th, 1948, in Salt Lake City, Utah, they had four children. In 1960 the family moved to Boise, Idaho where Chuck drove a semi for Albertson’s Ice Cream. Chuck and Erma were divorced and he married Dorothy Tewalt on September 5th, 1968 gaining a step-son and daughter and their children. He worked for Security Industries, at Boise Kenworth as a mechanic and did maintenance for Child's Garden Day Care and Great Beginnings Day Care. He and Dorothy (Dot) started DoRight Maintenance fixing rentals before they both retired. After Dot’s death in 2003, Chuck met Muriel Weight on a family camping trip and they were married on June 11, 2007. Gaining another step-son and daughter along with their children, they enjoyed many more camping trips and travels with her family.
Chuck loved the great outdoors; he was an avid hunter, loved camping with his family and had a passion for making furniture and toys in his wood shop for his many grandkids and great-grandkids. He was constantly tinkering in the garage fixing or rebuilding anything with a motor from lawn mowers to vehicles to a hand-made log splitter with a Jeep frontend. He also enjoyed rebuilding campers and trailers, he was an all around handyman and many family and friends benefited from and still cherish his work. He had a good long life and passed a little of his orneriness, mechanical abilities and love of the outdoors to each of his kids and extended family. He will be missed by many!
Chuck is preceded in death by his parents and 12 siblings, two previous wife’s Erma L. and Dorothy, his son Charles G. Wright, daughter C. Charlene Phelps, granddaughter Lisa M. Phelps. He is survived by his wife Muriel, children Shauna A. Sanderson, Kathryn J. Wright-Pulliam (Dan), Gary Tewalt (Linda), Dani Tewalt, Teresa Paige (Karl), Steve Weight (Carmen), many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.
His family would like to thank St. Alphonsus Home Health and Hospice and Katy, Carol, Sherie, Lacy, Josh, Shannon, Joe. If we missed anyone, please know we appreciated you all greatly.
