Judith Ann Wood

Our beloved mom, sister, aunt, grama, gigi, cousin, and friend, Judith (Judy) Ann Wood of Kuna/Meridian, passed away on March 6, 2023 at the age of 92.

Judy was born in 1930 in Milwaukee, WI, to Ray and Marcella Hoen. She was preceded in death by her two brothers, Ray and Don, and is survived by her sister Sharlene, all of whom she dearly loved.

Judy spent many summers at the cottage in Mercer, WI, and moved many times as part of a military family. She graduated high school in Fallbrook, CA, and attended San Diego State College.

Judy married Robert U. (Woody) Wood in 1955 in Yuma, AZ, and then moved to Kuna, ID, where they built their home, lived for 64 years on the Wood family dairy farm (EE-DA-HOW Farm) and raised their four children: Sandy Johnson (Bryan), Doug Wood (Mel), Ron Wood (Janet), and Christi Horton (Scott). She loved and was loved by her numerous grand/great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

Judy worked as a telephone operator, home health care worker, cosmetic rep, and realtor. She also volunteered at St. Al's and was active in the PTA. The job she took the most pride in was being a mother and homemaker.

Judy was an avid swimmer (loved the water!), bowler, snow/water skier, and golfer. She loved traveling and SHOPPING! She was involved in the ION Appaloosa Horse Club and Ten Mile Riding Club, participating in many of the activities and was known for her delicious pies! She really enjoyed watching her husband, children, and grandchildren compete in horse events and other sports. She was a proud member of several Red Hat groups, and a Boise State Broncos football fan!

After her husband passed in 2019, her true strength became more evident when she made a major life change and began living independently in Meridian, where she continued to live an active social life.

Judy's family appreciated the loving care that she received from the staff at St. Luke's Hospital, and she peacefully passed with her family by her side. She will be missed and remain in our hearts forever. Judy's motto, "Today, I will love my life" should be an example for us all!

Services will be held at Cloverdale Funeral Home in Boise, ID on March 25, 2023, at 3:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to: American Cancer Society, Idaho Humane Society, and City Light Women's Shelter.
