Tribute

Kathleen (Allan) Fackrell, of Boise, passed away early morning on April 8, 2019 at the age of 92 (just shy 3 weeks of 93), at Copper Springs assisted living in Meridian. We know that she is in a better place now, and surrounded by family in heaven. There will be no funeral service per her request. Kathleen was born on April 29, 1926 in Boise to John and Nellie Allan. She lived her childhood in Mayfield, Idaho on her family’s ranch caring for sheep and various other animals, and she graduated from Boise High School in 1944. She married Robert (Kenny) Fackrell on July 13, 1946 in Winnemucca, Nevada.

During such a long and wonderful life, Kathleen worked hard in her younger years on the ranch and then after she married, raised 7 children. She also worked over the years in various jobs like Bee’s Drive Inn in Spokane, WA, Dairy Queen in Langley, VA, and many other jobs as we traveled all over the United States with our father in the Air Force. When Dad retired in 1976, the family returned to Boise and were able to settle for once and not move again. Kathleen loved taking care of her grandchildren as they were growing up and many of them have great memories of places Grandma would take them. She also loved going for long drives in the mountains and out to Mayfield, loved playing pinochle, and enjoyed telling us lots of stories.

Kathleen is survived by her sister, Dorothy Thompson of Lodi, CA; daughter, Carla (Tom) Ratcliff, Emmett; son Terry Fackrell, Boise; daughter, Gwen Partridge, Meridian; daughter, Nancy (Rick) Emerson, Boise; daughter, Dana (Gordon) Hiatt, Boise; daughter, Cathy (Matt) Howard, Boise. She also has 10 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was proceeded in death by her parents, John and Nellie Allan, her husband, Robert Fackrell, two sisters, Jean Baker of Ogden, Utah, and Molly Buchanan of Boise, and one daughter, Debbie.

The family would love for you to share your memories or special moments that you spent with her, and you can send them to: address: 2300 N. 23rd St., Boise, ID 83702; or email: tazlady7@yahoo.com. Thank you to everyone who has supported all of us during this difficult time, it has been greatly appreciated. The family would like to also suggest that any donations be made to your favorite charity in Kathleen’s name.

Do not stand at my grave and weep
I am not there. I do not sleep.
I am a thousand winds that blow.
I am the diamond glints on snow.
I am the sunlight on ripened grain.
I am the gentle autumn rain.
When you awaken in the morning's hush
I am the swift uplifting rush
Of quiet birds in circled flight.
I am the soft stars that shine at night.
Do not stand at my grave and cry;
I am not there. I did not die.
