Laurie, 57, passed away March 19, 2023 after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. She tried, with every ounce of her being to be strong. In her last hours, she was comforted by family and friends, including her lifelong friend, Gene Carlton, whose loving care, compassion and dedication over the past several weeks brought much peace and comfort to Laurie.

Laurie was born on October 22, 1965 in Boise, Idaho to William Wade Lay Sr. and Nellie Mae Lay. Laurie enjoyed attending car shows and races, watching Nascar, football, old Westerns and comedy shows, camping, and Harley Davidson rides. Laurie was a beautiful woman with a heart of gold who loved her parents, children, grandchildren, family, and friends unselfishly and unconditionally. This and her quick wit and never-ending sense of humor was her greatest gift to all who crossed her path. During her last days with us, she continued to bring smiles and laughter to us all. Laurie will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

Laurie was preceded in death by her father William Wade Lay Sr.; brothers Roger Dean Lay and Gary Lee Lay; grandson Cole; and her beloved Chihuahua Lucy. She is survived by her mother Nellie Mae Lay; sons Gary Lee Lay and Mark Anthony Lay; grandchildren Aliasandra, Sophia, Orianna, and Linkoln; brothers David (and Rita) Lay, Gene (and Betty) Sutterfield, and William Lay Jr.; sisters Sandra Wright, Pam (and Brad) Combs, and Marcie Rhodes; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family and friends including her beloved Chihuahua Chico.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, May 6, 2023 from 2-5pm at The Vineyard Christian Fellowship located at 4950 Bradley St. in Boise, Idaho. A private inurnment will be held at Cloverdale Memorial Park in Boise, Idaho.
