Nancy Rowe Smith was born on October 8, 1935 in Bath, Maine to George Ronald and Olive Marie Rowe Smith. She was a proud descendent of lighthouse keepers and fishermen. She graduated Cape Elizabeth High School in 1953 and married William Spear in Rockland, Main in 1958. The family of six moved to Idaho in 1971. She became involved in the Meridian Public Library helping Nancy Sage and the Occident Club petitioning for the Meridian Free Library District. After serving on the board, she worked in the library for 12 years. She involved herself in CCD and Altar Society at Holy Spirit Catholic Church and represented them as Pro Life representative Right to Life of Idaho. Her husband, Bill, pre-deceased her in September 2016. She leaves 4 daughters: Kathy and Norm Warner, Cristine Spear and Paul Wilson, Jacqueline Briscoe, Linda Williams and five grandchildren: William A Sweet, Robin S Long, Maria Hope Williams, Carlos Williams, Justin L Warner: 2 step grandchildren Kathryn L Warner and David L. Warner, her sister Sharon Hope and Gerald Murray and sister-in-law Brenda Mitchell. A Graveside Service will be on Friday, August 5, 2022 at 10am at Cloverdale Memorial Park.
