Rita Belisle, 87
Rita Belisle, 87, died on Thursday, October 3, 2019.
The daughter of Herbert Leslie Ellis and Eunice Louisa Yarwood, she was born July 28, 1932, in Widnes, England. Finishing the English school system at age 16, she began working in various secretarial positions. Her career led her to a position as an officer's secretary at Burtonwood Air Force Base where she met a 'Yank' who would become her husband.
On March 29, 1952, she married Harlan Preston Belisle in a 12th century church in Farnworth, England. The newlyweds soon returned to America via steamship and settled in Harlan's hometown of Modesto, California. The couple also lived in San Jose and Hollister, California before moving to Boise, Idaho.
She was a very devoted and loving mother to her three children: Kevin Russell, Lawrence Paul, and Lesley Ann. In addition to her children, she had six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
For most of her secretarial career, Rita worked for IBM Corporation in San Jose and Boise, retiring in 1986. She also worked in the St. Luke's Hospital Pathology Lab as a medical transcriptionist and volunteered for many years in the St. Luke's Hospital Gift Shop.
Mrs. Belisle is survived by her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.
In Boise, she was a member of the United Methodist Church and the Wright Community Congregational Church.
A memorial service will take place on Friday, October 11, at 11:00 AM at the Wright Community Congregational Church, 4821 W. Franklin Rd., Boise.
