American Veteran 01

Suezette Renee Madery-Wilkey

October 8, 1969 ~ May 29, 2023 (age 53) 53 Years Old

Tribute

On May 29th (Memorial Day) we lost a great soldier, mother, daughter, sister, friend as Suezette Madery-Wilkey passed away of respiratory distress.

She was born October 8th, 1969 to Jerry Wilkey and Daveda Maus (Grant Kane). She had five brothers Mike (Ricki), Joel (Loren), Joey (Kelsey), Kevin, and K.C. (Janet); one sister Sandra (Michael); a very loving stepmother Violet Wilkey (William Mallman); stepfather Gary (Crissy) Alzola; daughter Riann Sandra Madery; son Payton Charles Madery; and numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.

Suezette had a successful and long military career of 31 years that she was very proud of in the Idaho National Guard. Suezette made it to the rank of E-9, holding numerous important positions, but was never prouder than her time spent as a First Sergeant taking care of others. She loved to travel, and never met a stranger – classifying them as nothing other than a new potential friend. She would light up the room of every space she entered laughing and constantly ready to counter any jokes and digs headed her way. Her wit was as intimidating as her leadership presence.

Suezette enjoyed playing board games, cards, skiing, and of course making people laugh. She loved animals to a fault, risking life and limb over a stray dog that lost its way. She loved spending her time with friends even if it was just to sit and talk about their day. She was always ready to brighten someone’s day by bringing homemade cinnamon rolls that her kids just loved or making a lasagna and dropping it by for a friend in need. She had a big heart, loved others, always met or exceeded any expectation or obligation with a smile on her face or just outright laughing.

As a lifelong achievement she had recently earned her bachelor’s degree in Human Resources which she was very proud of. Her chosen career field exempliefies her dedication to others.

A funeral service will be held at Cloverdale Funeral Home – Gibson Chapel at 1PM on Monday, June 5th. She will be privately interred at the Idaho State Veterans Cemetery in Boise, Idaho at a later date.
