Tribute

Teresa Bodziachowska, our loving wife, mom, and babcia (grandma), passed away January 22, 2022 at St. Alphonsus Regional Medical Center. Teresa was born to and raised by Stanislaw and Marianna Krupka in Redziny, Poland.

In Poland, Teresa spent her younger years with her mother, father, and brother, spending time with the ones she loved, smiling and laughing. At her cousin’s wedding, when Teresa was only 17, she laid eyes on the love of her life, Eugeniusz Bodziachowski. After 4 years of getting to know one another, Teresa married Eugeniusz on July 24, 1976, starting a new chapter in her life.

Throughout 45 years of marriage and almost 50 years together, Teresa and Eugeniusz raised a wonderful family. They have a son, Krzysztof, and a daughter, Joanna. In 1996, Teresa and her family moved to the United States. After traveling around the US trying to find the perfect place to live, they settled in Boise, Idaho. Teresa found a job in the Boise School District where she worked as a baker for the cafeteria. Each day, for over 20 years, she would bake many treats and goods for the students at her schools. Everyone enjoyed all of her baking as no one was able to bake as well as she has.

Teresa has 4 grandchildren: Artur, Justina, Daniel, and Avery. When her grandchildren’s parents were working, Teresa was always there to take care of them. She would pick up her grandchildren from school in her purple Buick. Every day, she had treats and dinner prepared at her home. In the summer, Teresa would take her grandchildren camping almost every weekend. Wherever the motorhome took her, memories were made. In Cascade, Stanley, and Hells Canyon, Teresa and her family would play cards, hike, and sit by the fire, where her grandchildren would roast sausage and smores for her. She loved to sit by the lake and admire nature’s beauty. Teresa loved camping because she was able to spend a lot of time with her family, her first priority in life. She put family at the center of her life, imbuing the importance of family to her wonderful children and grandchildren. She supported all of her children and grandchildren, attending all of their events. She raised a great and loving family that she was very proud of. Teresa loved all of the family gatherings, traveling, camping, boating, hiking, and playing cards, but, most of all, spending time together, laughing, dancing, and capturing remarkable memories.

Everyone knew Teresa as a loving, caring, compassionate, thoughtful, beautiful, and selfless woman who made the most out of every day and never gave up.

Teresa’s legacy continues through her family: husband, Eugeniusz Bodziachowski; son, Krzysztof Bodziachowski and wife Karina; daughter, Joanna Preston and husband Mark; and grandchildren: Artur, Justina, Daniel, and Avery.

Teresa will be dearly missed by friends and family.
